Equipping Tomorrow’s Talents

For 20 days, I had the opportunity to lead an intensive photography training program as part of “Equipping Tomorrow’s Talents,” an initiative led by the Place des Cultures Urbaines de Dakar (MCU Dakar).

Across 100 hours of training, we explored the fundamentals of photography, from camera settings and composition to lighting, portraiture, visual storytelling, and creative practice. But beyond technical skills, the training was about developing a personal eye and learning how to translate ideas into images.

The program combined classroom sessions, practical exercises, field photography, image reviews, and creative projects. Each session became an opportunity to experiment, make mistakes, question our choices, and grow.

A hands-on experience focused on knowledge sharing, practice, and developing the participants’ photographic vision.
